William “Pierre” Wade Channels A&R Instincts Into the COBRET Independent Label

The question of who finds and develops talent in music has rarely had a clean answer, but over the past decade the function has migrated steadily away from major label infrastructure and toward smaller, more nimble operations. A&R professionals, managers, and representatives who once worked within large institutional structures now often operate through independent partnerships, where the distance between a creative decision and its execution is considerably shorter. William “Pierre” Wade has built a career in that space.

By Wade’s account, his professional history encompasses A&R work, talent management, and artist representation across multiple sectors of the music business. His current focus is a direct operational partnership with Jeff Eveline, the producer and label founder behind COBRET and its newer sibling imprint, MAMBOR.

What COBRET Is and How It Operates

COBRET launched in January 2024 as an independent platform for Eveline’s own releases and collaborative projects with emerging artists. Its catalog reflects a genre-resistant philosophy from the start. Eveline, a producer, DJ, and songwriter whose music combines the energy of hip-hop and psychedelic rap with dreamy, trippy and electronic soundscapes, has anchored the imprint across every release cycle since its opening months. Genius has followed his output extensively, characterizing an approach that tends to dissolve the distinctions between musical categories rather than move comfortably between them.

The roster releasing through COBRET includes Fre$H, Chris Moner, Tellzzzz, and YOTE, the visual creative also known as Tyler Wagers. Projects including “INGLEWUUD,” “WENDY,” “OMEN,” and the full-length tape PUNK ELITE have appeared under the COBRET name across Apple Music, Spotify, and Beatport. The full catalog, collecting streaming links across platforms, reflects consistent output from the label’s first months through an active 2026 that includes TURBO MUNDO, a collaborative tape from Eveline and Fre$H.

For Wade, the value of working inside a structure like this comes down to proximity. A&R work is most effective when the professional involved is close to the creative process and part of decisions as they are made rather than after the fact. An active independent imprint provides that kind of closeness in ways that purely external representation rarely does.

MAMBOR and the Sub-Label Logic

The partnership extended further in 2026 with the launch of MAMBOR, a sub-label built specifically to hold pop-influenced house and techno. The decision to create a separate imprint rather than fold everything into COBRET reflects a practical distinction: the two imprints operate with different sonic identities and different audiences in mind. COBRET carries the wider mandate; MAMBOR provides a more focused context for club-oriented material. Chris Moner, one of the central artists on COBRET, is also part of the MAMBOR roster.

The case for an in-house sub-label is rooted in a frustration familiar to producers and artists in electronic music specifically. Reaching wider audiences in that scene has traditionally required placement on established labels, a process that can hold music unreleased for months and leave artists dependent on decisions made elsewhere. A dedicated imprint removes that dependency. Work moves on the team’s own timeline, in its own framing, without waiting on placement decisions made by people with different priorities.

The Career Behind the Partnership

According to Wade, his background includes years of engagement with talent and industry professionals across different areas of the music business. His experience in representation and management informs how he approaches the work at COBRET and MAMBOR, particularly in understanding where gaps tend to form between what an artist is capable of producing and what the structures around them actually support. Inside an independent label structure, that understanding shapes decisions at every stage of development and release.

Both imprints remain active in 2026, with releases ongoing and new collaborations in progress. Coverage of Eveline’s work and the COBRET catalog can be found on Genius and across major global streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Pandora and others, which has followed the imprint since its early releases. For Wade, the partnership represents a convergence of the career he has built and the creative environment he has chosen to build within.
