In September 2025, Jesús Güimil Beiras arrived in Los Angeles for an appearance on “Famosos,” a program on Visión Latina TV hosted by Anaís Salazar, which he says reaches audiences across multiple American states. He had released his first song barely a year before the invitation came. For an artist whose catalog is built almost entirely on personal history, the early international reach was not a coincidence. It was more like a confirmation that the material was making contact.
Güimil Beiras, who performs and records as MK MAIK, grew up in Vigo with Argentine roots. The story he has told to Spanish-language press over the past two years, and on his website mkmaik.com, includes adoption, a later search for his biological family, and years of bullying that made belonging feel consistently provisional. Music came last in that sequence. When it did arrive, it gave the other parts of the story somewhere to go, and the artist name MK MAIK came with the decision to stop treating that history as private.
What started the actual career, practically speaking, was fitness content. Long before he released a track, Güimil Beiras had been building an audience through social media posts about training, and then through a clothing brand he created himself, which, as he told Diario de Arousa in a November 2025 profile, opened doors to contacts and a digital community. One day he started posting videos of himself singing. The response shifted his plans.
His debut single, “ROSÉ,” had its music video filmed at the Palacio de la Oliva in Vigo and reached, by the artist’s own account, nearly a million streams across platforms including Apple Music. The sound it introduced has held across everything he has released since: Latin urban music built over reggaeton rhythms, melodic production, and lyrics drawn from lived experience rather than invented narrative. “One of One” made the premise explicit in its title. The material also extended into a collaborative audiovisual project, “One of One Frequency of the Survivor,” released in Portugal alongside Aris Gómez Olalla. A fourth single, “Fanática,” followed.
“FRECUENCIA,” listed on the artist’s website as a release under the Epic Records label, had its lyrics written by Aris Gómez Olalla, who Güimil Beiras describes as his partner and fiancée. Gómez Olalla is also an author in her own right, with a memoir published under the title Aris, from Darkness to Freedom. The catalog is still small, but each track approaches the same raw material from a different angle, which may account for how quickly it moved beyond Galicia.
In Spain, television appearances accumulated. MK MAIK has appeared on Luar, the Galician-language entertainment show on public broadcaster TVG, as well as on Y ahora Sonsoles on Antena 3 and Hay una cosa que te quiero decir on Telecinco. He performed in front of more than 9,000 people at the Fiestas del Apóstol de Santiago, by his own account to Diario de Arousa. At the brand level, content associated with MK MAIK appeared on an organic basis on Coca-Cola’s official US Instagram account, according to the artist. Eyewear brand Chamelo has engaged with his posts through comments and shares, he says. French DJ and producer Willy William, known internationally for the track “Mi Gente,” is among those who follow his Instagram account, Güimil Beiras says, describing these as social media connections.
Screen work arrived alongside the music. Güimil Beiras says he appeared as a featured extra during the filming of the third and final season of Clanes, the Netflix crime drama about Galician drug trafficking that became a global hit for the platform across its first two seasons. Production for the third season, by Galician production company Vaca Films, has taken place at multiple locations across the region including Cambados, Pontevedra, and Ferrol. He also reports taking part in casting for the Telecinco reality series La isla de las tentaciones, though the outcome is not something he can discuss at this point.
In October 2026, he announced his incorporation as a Professional Member of the Latin Recording Academy, the organization responsible for the Latin GRAMMY Awards. The announcement was posted on his Instagram account on October 14, 2026, and he says supporting documentation is available.
Two further projects are in active development. One is “I Am the Knight,” described by the artist as a song with K-pop influences paired with an anime-style animated video built around a story of confronting darkness and helping a young girl recover her own sense of strength. Güimil Beiras is currently seeking Korean vocalists to contribute, framing it as an open invitation for emerging artists who want to take part in an international collaboration.
The other is a book. MK MAIK: Frecuencia del superviviente, roughly Survivor’s Frequency in English, is accepting pre-reservations on his website. The book page at mkmaik.com/libro.html describes it as a full account of identity, bullying, family, and survival, covering the same ground as the songs and the parts they left out. Güimil Beiras says it tells things he spent years deciding not to say out loud. The pre-reservation page exists because he appears to have decided the silence had run long enough.
